How To Rename a Website Domain On Your Web Host Via Direct Admin

You can easily rename a domain in Direct Admin. This could be done through the Direct Admin’s domain management facility.

In order to rename a domain, login to direct admin. Under Account Manager, click “Domain Setup”. On the next page, you’ll see the list of domains you have added previously. Click on ‘Rename Domain’.

At the top right hand of the page, you’ll see the currently selected domain for your account.

Once you click ‘Rename Domain’, you’ll see a pop-up box where you can enter the old domain and new domain. The old domain is the domain you want to rename. The new domain is the new name for the domain, i.e., what you are renaming the old domain to.

Select the old domain and enter the new domain name to proceed.

Once you are done, click ‘Save’.

That’s how easy it is to rename an old domain to a new domain in Direct Admin. One thing to note when renaming domains is that just as the old domain is registered and already pointing to your web server’s IP address, your new domain must also be registered and be pointed to your server in order to function over the internet.
